Lean Six Sigma
Lean Six Sigma is a proven blueprint used to increase a company’s profits by reducing mistakes, eliminating unnecessary expenses and enhancing revenue generation. The Lean Six Sigma blueprint is a fact-based approach to both improve existing processes and design new ones.
- To improve the effectiveness and efficiency of any type of process in any organization, the D.M.A.I.C. outline below is used:
- For designing processes that achieve breakthrough results based on customer specifications, the D.M.A.D.V outline below is used:
- D.M.A.I.C.
- D: define objectives
- M: measure current capability
- A: analyze data to assess root cause
- I: develop improvements
- C: sustain improvements
- D.M.A.D.V.
- D: define objectives
- M: identify customer requirements
- A: analyze potential solutions
- D: detail design and test new process
- V: sustain improvements
The blueprint is applied by Lean Six Sigma practitioners called Green Belts, Black Belts, and Master Black Belts who complete improvement or design projects that are managed to reach financial targets and achieve other relevant business results.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belts: Green Belts are trained and skilled in Lean Six Sigma to solve the majority of process problems in both service and manufacturing companies.
Lean Six Sigma Black Belts: Black Belts are the most highly trained in Lean Six Sigma. They are expected to achieve breakthrough level improvements in most complex processes.
Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belts: Master Black Belts are hands-on experts who train and mentor Green and Black Belts in Lean Six Sigma and work on the highest complexity projects.
